Weather Forecast Today: People of Delhi-NCR have got relief from severe cold and cold wave. The weather has changed in the last two days. On Monday (January 20), the minimum temperature was recorded at 11.4 degrees Celsius, which was above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will be clear throughout the day on Tuesday (January 21), although there will be moderate fog in the morning.
The outbreak of cold wave has increased further in Kashmir Valley. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 3.2 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has predicted snowfall in the next 72 hours. The valley is currently in the grip of βChilla-e-Kalanβ which is the coldest period of 40 days. This has greatly affected the daily routine of the local people.
Dense fog in Rajasthan and Punjab-Haryana
Visibility has become extremely low due to dense fog in many parts of Rajasthan. The minimum temperature was 6.8 degrees Celsius in Pali, 8.9 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer and 14 degrees Celsius in Jaipur. Due to the new western disturbance, there is a possibility of rain in some parts of the state on January 22. Similarly, cold wave continues in Punjab and Haryana also. The lowest temperature of 4.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Amritsar. The minimum temperature in Chandigarh and Ludhiana also remained above normal.
Chances of cold rising again
There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in Delhi on 22 and 23 January. Meteorologists say that after the rain, the effect of cold may increase once again. Rain alert has also been issued in some areas of UP-Bihar. This change in weather in these states can make people feel the cold again.
The Meteorological Department has advised people to be cautious during cold and fog. It has been suggested to be careful while driving and continue using warm clothes. Besides, keeping in mind the rain and snowfall, it has also been advised to avoid traveling to hilly areas.
